Since 1973 Asotin County Community Services (ACCS) has provided pathways to employment for people with disabilities. The job search is led by the job seeker based on the individual’s aptitude and abilities, with the goal of finding the best employee/employer match.  ACCS connects students to paid work experiences through WA Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), provides long-term employment supports through Washington Developmental Disabilities Administration, assists job seekers with placement of a permanent job through DVR or Foundational Community Supports.

Opportunities Unlimited Inc.

Opportunities Unlimited, Inc. (OUI) seeks to make a world where all ABILITIES are included in the community, at school, at work, IN LIFE. Opportunities Unlimited, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1974. We began with a focus of helping people with disabilities have an opportunity at employment and over the last four decades have expanded into a multitude of services that allow us to assist those seeking services fully participate in the communities they call home.

Vocational services are provided to increase levels of independent functioning, vocational skills, and earned income in order to decrease their reliance upon public and private support.

Community Supported Employment (CSE) is paid employment with community employers for individuals who are not likely to earn minimum wage or above without special training or assistance. This program also provides assistance with training on the job through the provision of a job coach who works one-on-one with the trainee as needed to learn the job and/or resolve any issues that would have a detrimental effect on their employment. This program also allows for long-term intensive support as needed to aid in maintaining employment.

Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest

Sometimes people need a little extra support when they are learning a job. Goodwill’s Supported Employment program helps you be successful at your job in the community. Participants in this program work at various companies in the community. A Goodwill job coach may work alongside participants while they learn and master job duties. The goal is to help participants maintain employment by learning to work well with others and meet work expectations. Support may include help navigating the workplace, communicating and problem solving with supervisors and co-workers, understanding paychecks, and figuring out how to order your work day and the tasks that need to get done in a shift. These services are available in Spokane, Moses Lake, Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene, Pend Oreille, Moscow, and Lewiston.
